When I thought I’d finally got rid of that cough, it came back and some. It gave me a had time throughout the night. Although after taking a sleep-right about midnight I seemed to relax and sleep better.
Didn’t see any of the gang at breakfast, I think that I’m the last one to leave. Wasn’t feeling all that flash after breakfast so I just went back to my room and slept some more. The day really dragged on, seemed to go on forever. Apart from a walk around the lake I didn’t do much at all. I just wasn’t up to it and didn’t really want to push myself physically.
Went and booked a taxi for 5am tomorrow, paid for it and my outstanding room service bills. I asked if I could pay in AS$ and he quoted some ridiculous amount about twice as much as it should have been. I said no, I’ll pay it by credit card, so he changed the amount to a more realistic one, but I insisted in putting it on the card. I’m not sure if it was a genuine mistake or he was trying to rip me off. I’m glad that I’d done the conversion in my room and knew what the sum should’ve been.
Spent a bit of time sorting out my gear, disposing of a couple of things I don’t need and reading an e-book on my phone. I’m ok with that but I don’t enjoy it as much as a physical book.
About 4pm I started to feel a little better so after some green tea I went outside wandering. An interesting neighbourhood catering for both the locals and the tourists. Lots of foot massages available, can’t think of anything worse myself but some people must enjoy them going on the number of establishments. The food available is mostly local non-westernised stuff which I wouldn’t like to chance. The souvenir sellers are all over the place but they don’t hassle you like they used to do on previous trips. I bought a couple of hats / caps for Stan, not big on souvenirs.
I wasn’t that hungry, even though the last time I had eaten was breakfast, so I just picked up a sandwich and yoghurt drink from the corner store. It did the trick.
No pics today as I didn’t see anything new.
